inPhorm has for years supported Equine Advocates, the acclaimed sanctuary that rescues and retires abused and abandoned horses, in Chatham, NY. We also have designed and produced EA’s tee shirts.
On this Veterans Day, we participated in a ceremony honoring Sergeant York, a veteran of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), stationed at Arlington National Cemetery, who was the “Riderless Horse” in the funeral processions for Ronald Reagan, Colin Powell, and so many others. Now 31, he’s retired to the EA sanctuary after 25 years as a Military Working Horse with the U.S Army Caisson Platoon. (He’s named for Sergeant Alvin York, a hero of World War I.)
He received a citation from Gov. Kathy Hochul of New York, presented by Master Sergeant Gary Flaherty, retired, and Melissa Murray, a former comrade.
