We love sharing the voices of our inPhorm sponsored pro athletes with you. Below is the first of a series of updates on some of their 2018 journey through the 2018 Tennis Grand Slam season and summer play. This one is written by Giuliana “Gugu” Olmos who though resides in the U.S. plays for the country of her birth, Mexico.  Gugu has an excellent chance at playing in the next Olympics representing Mexico and we know you will want to join us in following her journey there! We hope you enjoy learning of Giuliana Olmos’ words on her 2018 journey, a long and sometimes lonely road of the female professional tennis player.

From Gugu:

Just wanted to give you a quick wrap up on the end of my summer! After seeing you and Saad in Wimbledon, KK (Kaitlyn Christian) and I made the finals of the 100k in Budapest, Hungary. I came back to LA for a couple days and then went to Barranquilla, Colombia, to represent Mexico in the Central American Games. I did well there winning three medals! I won Gold in doubles, Silver in the team event, and Bronze in Singles. I had never won a medal before and I was so proud to win three for my country. By doing so well in this event, I have now qualified for the Pan-American Games next summer which could potentially help lead me into the Olympics!!

After Colombia, I had a week to recover before heading to Vancouver for my last tournament of the summer. I made it through qualifying in singles before losing in the main draw in three sets to Arantxa Rus. It was a tough match losing 6-4,4-6,3-6, but it was a great experience for me and I learned that I could hang with someone who was ranked 100 in the world. In doubles, I advanced over last year and won my first $100k title.

Last year Desirae Krawczyk and I lost in the finals so we were happy to be back and win the title this time! I am training in LA  and then heading to  Quebec, Canada, to play a WTA.

Here is my schedule for my upcoming tournaments:

September 10 WTA Quebec, Canda
September 17 $25k Lubbock, TX
September 24 $60k Templeton, CA
October 1 $60k Stockton, CA
October 8 WTA Hong Kong
