Journey to Wimbledon 2018
By Susanne Taylor~
inPhorm is proud to announce that four inPhorm sponsored ladies will compete at this year’s “In Pursuit of Greatness” 2018 Wimbledon Championship!
Congratulations to these hard-working women and already champions for making the cut for the Main Draw in what is probably the most popular Grand Slam in all of tennis. The first order of play will be announced on Sunday, July 1st, and we will be keeping you inPhormed with regular announcements and updates via social media. #getinphormation
In the meantime, you can read more about these amazing young women, which include Alla Kudryavtseva from Russia, Jess Moore of Australia, Kaitlyn Christian of the USA, and Guiliana Olmos from Mexico, on our inPhorm website at www.inphormnyc.com.
Last year I was fortunate enough to check Wimbledon off my bucket list when invited there by inPhorm UK Distributor, Stuf Marketing. I will always be grateful to Alan Byrne and Noni Cuthbert for their amazing hospitality. My son, Kris, joined me and it was a week filled with tennis as you can never imagine, champagne, Wimbledon whites, and strawberries and cream.
And Alla Kudryavtseva, who is practically a Taylor family member now, inspired us both with the most amazing tour of the beautiful grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Alla’s thoughtfulness and spirit of adventure added so much to the trip, not to mention we kicked it off with a traditional Russian meal that was out of this world followed by High Tea the next morning.
I have been extraordinarily blessed to have visited a lot of amazing places and to have seen a lot of professional sports in my day, but nothing compared to Wimbledon. It is a MUST see/do experience. Every single bit of the hype, rich history, and tradition is true and if anything, really does not do the tournament justice. I found this on the Wimbledon site and thought it worth sharing: #TAKEONHISTORY
“History is at the core of our pursuit of greatness. Our respect for our traditions drives us to be better, every day, and every year. It is what players come here to emulate, what fans come here to see, what our teams use to improve. That is why we have chosen history as the theme for this year’s content campaign, a celebration of 150 years of The All England Club. 50 years of Open tennis, and many more.
Leveraging innovation to bring all this to life, our animated launch fil shows the evolution of Wimbledon through a single continuous tennis rally, beginning in 1877 with Spencer Gore and ending with Serena Williams. As each new era begins, the illustrative style evolves with it, capturing historic details such as radically changing fashions, pony rollers use to keep the courts in prime condition, the transition from black and white to color TV broadcasts, and even the switch to yellow tennis balls.” © AELTC 2018.
I’m pinching myself to wake up from this dream come true and am counting down the days as this year I am lucky enough to be returning to Wimbledon! And joining me is inPhorm’s Creative Director, Saad Hajidin. This is Saad’s first visit to Wimbledon and I’m certain he will add to our journal. (Saad and I are going to kick off our trip by meeting and visiting with some of our beautiful clubs as I did last year. The Hurlingham Club as well as The Queen’s Club both boast nice assortments of inPhorm and we plan to unveil our spring 19 inPhorm collection for them while there.)
I would like to mention that Wimbledon has a great app that I recommend downloading during the championships. You can also learn more and get the latest updates from the official website at www.wimbledon.com. When you visit the site be sure and click on the inspiring Wimbledon Foundation link. The Wimbledon Foundation is partnering with Water Aid. Water and the well being of our planet is a subject close to the heart of inPhorm. Everything we do at inPhorm is with the impact of Mother Earth on our minds and water usage by the fashion industry is a subject we have discussed publicly on many occasions.
Through the support of the Wimbledon Foundation they will benefit three countries and save countless lives by supplying clean water. Learn more at: http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/wimbledonfoundation/2018-03-21_the_wimbledon_foundation_and_wateraid.html.
